Maple Granola Recipe

In-Shape | 28 Feb, 2022 | Healthy Recipes | Return|

Ready to prep for breakfast success? This healthy granola recipe is naturally sweetened with maple syrup and is SO delicious. Get your kids involved in making it: they can measure the ingredients, mix, and help spread out the granola before you put it in the oven. When kids help cook, they’re more likely to try out and enjoy the food they make!

This maple granola is great on its own as a snack, or try it in a bowl with your favorite milk product and a sliced banana on top. This recipe makes about 6 cups.

What you need:

  • 4 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup pecans (or your choice of nut/seed)
  • ½ cup pepitas (optional)
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¾ tsp fine sea salt
  • ½ cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

What you do:

  1. Heat oven to 350 Degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, stir your oats, pecans, pepitas, cinnamon and salt until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl or measuring cup, mix your coconut oil, maple syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry and stir until evenly combined.
  5. Spread the granola evenly on your baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Remove from oven and let cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
