The Best Holiday Appetizers From Trader Joe's

In-Shape | 16 Nov, 2022 | Return|

By the time you get the roast in the oven and all the sides started, the idea of cooking appetizers will just seem exhausting. Our holiday party pro-tip? Stock up on a few of these pre-made holiday appetizers from Trader Joe’s ahead of time. That way, they’re ready to pop into the oven (or into a fancy serving dish) when the party starts. If you throw away the packaging and claim it’s your own recipe, we promise not to tell.

1. Spinach-Kale Yogurt Dip

Like your classic spinach dip, but a little lighter. This dip is still totally delicious, but we find the yogurt version leaves you feeling a little less lethargic after eating, which is a definite win for an appetizer. We like to serve this dip with raw veggies and crackers

2. Brie en Croute

It doesn’t get much more decadent than this. If you and your family are a fan of brie, definitely grab this one on your trip to TJ’s. On the back of the package, you’ll see instructions on how to add your favorite jam—which is the route we recommend. This appetizer is also more cheese than pastry, so you’ll want to serve it alongside crackers or grapes.

3. Vegan Garlic Spread & Dip

This fluffy garlic stuff is basically Toum, a traditional Lebanese garlic spread. It’s delicious with a POWERFUL garlic flavor—not ideal for a first date, but if you’re a fan of garlic, this will likely be your favorite Trader Joe’s find. Spread this on slices of warm bread or serve as a dip with pita. If you have any left over after the celebration, try adding it to a chicken bowl or making garlic grilled cheese!

4. Green Bean Casserole Bites

These bites are tasty, but you may want to buy two boxes (or more, depending on the size of your party!) because they truly are just a bite. Watch these carefully in the oven or air fryer so they don’t burn.

5. Fancy cheese plate? Consider it done.

Not sure how to put together your holiday charcuterie board? Let Trader Joe’s do the heavy lifting. Grab a combination pack of crackers, an assorted cheese party tray, then go for a fancier cheese option or two to amp things up, like their goat cheese log coated with cranberry. Cut your log into slices and you’re ready to go. Happy Holidays!
