3 Ways to Move More During Summer

In-Shape | 29 May, 2024 | Wellness Tips & Trends | Return|

Whether you are looking to boost your fitness routine or simply incorporate more movement into your daily life, summer offers endless opportunities to stay active.

Embrace Water Activities

When the summer heat is at its peak, water activities are a refreshing way to stay active and provide a full-body workout without the impact on your joints. Whether you are swimming laps at the pool or attend an aqua aerobics class, both are perfect for a low-impact, high-resistance workout!

Incorporate Movement into Social Activities

Summer is a time for socializing, and there are plenty of ways to combine social activities with physical movement, making active activities feel less like a chore and more like a part of your daily fun. Plan a hike with friends to explore local trails or bring the family to join you for one of our Family Fitness Nights! These are great ways to stay active while engaging with your family and friends all summer long.

Take Advantage of Outdoor Workouts

The fresh air, sunshine, and change of scenery can do wonders for your motivation and overall well-being. Start your day with a brisk run or walk in the early morning when temperatures are cooler. Take advantage of everything you get at In-Shape. We offer different outdoor fitness classes during the summer at select locations, from outdoor yoga to a game of pickleball, these activities are a fantastic way to stay fit while enjoying the camaraderie of group exercise.

Summer’s warm weather and long days offer the perfect opportunity to increase your activity level and enjoy the outdoors. By taking your workouts outside, embracing water activities, and incorporating movement activities with others, you can stay active, healthy, and happy all season long. So, grab a friend, and get moving!
