3 Healthy Condiment Replacements You Never Knew You Needed

Are you looking for creative ways to elevate dishes with healthier ingredients while holding on to that same great taste? These condiment replacements can kick your dish up a notch while you hold on to those gains.   

 

Greek Yogurt Mayo 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt 
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 

Instructions: 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. 
  2. Stir until well incorporated. 
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 

Use as a replacement for mayonnaise in sandwiches, salads, or dips. 

 

 

Avocado Ranch Dressing 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 ripe avocado 
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt 
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley. 
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill. 
  • 1 clove garlic, minced. 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 
  • Water (as needed to adjust consistency) 

Instructions: 

  1. Scoop the flesh of the avocado into a blender or food processor. 
  2. Add Greek yogurt, parsley, dill, minced garlic, and lemon juice. 
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency. 
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 

Serve as a healthier alternative to traditional ranch dressing for salads, veggies, or as a dip. 

 

 

Balsamic Glaze BBQ Sauce 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar 
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup 
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste 
  • 1 clove garlic, minced. 
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 

 

Instructions: 

  1. In a saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, honey or maple syrup, tomato paste, minced garlic, and smoked paprika. 
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low. 
  3. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened to a glaze-like consistency, about 10-15 minutes. 
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 

Use as a healthier alternative to traditional BBQ sauce for grilling, dipping, or marinating.
